/SUSTAINABILITY POLICY

Constant investment to maintain the highest level of quality and increase eco-compatibility: with this philosophy, and as part of a substantial investment plan, Pontenossa has built a crystallization plant that produces salts in crystals in the final stages of the washing process Waelz, allowing the reduction of the quality of sodium chloride potassium in wastewater.

Pontenossa therefore confirms its full assumption of responsibility in its commitment to environmental protection and constant attention towards the territory. Attention to the protection of the environment is central to Pontenossa S.p.A.’s approach, which carries out constant checks on the cooling water, whose quality as a result of the process and the purification is cleaner than the one introduced.

The same care is taken in controlling air and emissions, which comply with the most stringent regulations. The company is under constant control by the environmental authorities and the company units responsible for these activities and has a minimal impact on the environment, less than that caused by traffic on the street of a provincial city.

Pontenossa is also very active with a specific environmental policy with investments in reforestation, care of the territory, support to the local community that takes concrete form, for example, in the construction of the bike path of the Valley of Rice and in activities in favor of municipal libraries.

Co.Ge.Fin. SpA Sustainability Policy

All Pontenossa’s activities are regulated by the Lombardy Region with an Integrated Environmental Authorization (IEA) that has taken into account the Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) of the Ministry of the Environment, relating both to the production process and to the allocation of the waste to a suitable landfill. The process parameters are subjected to an in-depth internal monitoring and control plan through the laboratoryanalysis and subsequent transmission of data to the ARPA Control Authority, which periodically checks onsite compliance and approves any operational changes.
